Storyline

Play as a young Pokémon Trainer from Pallet Town, setting out on a journey across the Kanto region to become the Pokémon Champion. Professor Oak gives you a choice between Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle as your first Pokémon and tasks you with completing the Pokédex. Your rival, the Professor’s grandson, constantly challenges you along the way.

Traveling through Kanto, you battle Gym Leaders to earn Badges, defeat Team Rocket, and uncover their secret operations, including the infamous Silph Co. takeover and the Pokémon experimentations at the Pokémon Mansion on Cinnabar Island. You also explore legendary locations like the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town, where restless spirits reside.

After collecting all eight Gym Badges, you enter the Pokémon League at Indigo Plateau to challenge the Elite Four and, ultimately, your rival, who has already claimed the Champion title. After defeating him, you are crowned the new Pokémon Champion.

Post-game, you gain access to the Sevii Islands, where you face a revived Team Rocket plot, catch new Pokémon, and complete side quests. The journey culminates in a legendary showdown against Mewtwo in Cerulean Cave, marking the final challenge of the adventure.
